You would be surprised to know how many young individuals are now dependent on alcohol because of the false advertisement that happens through television commercials and through social influences that surround these†¦show more content†¦There are those hardheaded individuals who think that in order to â€Å"fit† in with the â€Å"big dogs† they have to follow the crowd. Most of the time underclassmen are influenced by fellow upperclassmen that abuse of alcohol because now these young folks want to experience that sensation that they hear upperclassmen talk about when they use alcohol. This makes freshman drink in order to fit in and have something to talk about in this new experience they are having with college. Even though American society may not have t he greatest alcohol rates in college students, it is still a great issue in the United States. When you hear the word alcoholic you tend to imagine an older individual right, someone who may not have a job so is out in the streets filthy as can be with the worst breath ever and frizzy hair? Well in recent times now this is not they case because we see so many younger folks abusing of it with no limitations on whether it is right or wrong. We always have that perception of people, because if we can imagine that individual looking like that then that is truly what they will look like. What we do not realize is that alcohol advertisement has a negative impact on younger individuals and so they begin abusing it at a very young age. Alcohol abuse comes from all sorts of social classes, sexes, races, and circumstances and there are no limitations as to how folks mistreat

War is often a time of bloody battles and numerous casualties; on both sides of the playing field. World War II was one of the bloodiest wars in history; it not only involved the mass genocide of a specific group of people, but it also brought on major changes in America. As a result of the war, many opportunities would open up for women in the work force. When the men were off fighting the war, there was a need for employees to take over the jobs that the men had to do. The emergence of women in the work field served as a catalyst for major events that would take place later on, like the Civil Rights Movement. The idea of â€Å"what it means to be a woman† in American society was put to the test, and throughout the war, women would have to constantly fight for their place in society; and the work force. Additionally, in order to outstandingly teach, students must be scaffolded. In education, the term ‘scaffold’ denotes a process in which teachers model or show how to solve a problem, and then step back, offering assistance as needed. This term while never used by Vygotsky, was introduced by Wood, Bruner and Ross (1976) in an attempt to operationalise the notion of teaching in Vygotsky’s zone of proximal development (ZPD) (Wells, 1999). ZPD lies amid the space where pupils can make progress with assistance from a teacher and independently completing tasks. Although Bruner’s concept of â€Å"scaffolding† came later, the two are closely linked. Of Bruner’s, scaffolding involves guiding pupils to help them learn new skills and concepts. As they develop, these aids are progressively removed, similar to how scaffolding would be taken down from a building. When scaffolding is being used, the teacher is helping pupils move on, to learn and to ma ke progress. The main scaffolding techniques are modelling, giving advice and providing coaching. Modelling requires the teacher to demonstrate an idea or skill so that pupils can see, hear or experience it in context. (Lantolf and Appel, 1994). Scaffolding and modelling can be used in all subjects. For instance, in a PE session the teacher may advise a learner on how to run competently.
